Affective July 1st we had to raise our menu prices due to the ever-increasing food cost. Anyone who has been going to the grocery store these past few years knows food cost has been going up and up. It has finally reached a point that the lodge can no longer take the hit and continue to operate as normal. We feel we are still putting out a quality product and at a price still cheaper than most restaurants. So please continue to support the lodge by purchasing a meal or two from the lodge.

FYI – We have added beef and chicken taco salads to the menu as well as stuffed tater tots (stuffed with cheese, bacon and chives).

Semper Fidelis,

Greg Sain – Brother and Administrator

I would like all those who volunteered and helped out for our two charity rides these past two months. We will still need help on our Labor Day picnic and for our 10K bingo. If you are willing to help, just see me.

Regards,

Your President Jeff Doss

Hello Ladies, Welcome Back!

Well, we have started a new moose year and hopefully this will be the best one we’ve had in a while. Our meetings are now held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 PM. Our new officers are Sr. Regent LaWanna Sain, Secretary Pam Ferrentino, and Treasurer Lynnlee Grissom. If you have any questions on what we are doing, or how you can help, feel free to ask any of us. Remember the only bad question is the one not asked. There have been many questions about dues. First off, you must be a lodge member before you can become a Women of the Moose. Lodge annual dues are $60 dollars. Chapter Membership dues are an additional $15.00 per year. (When paying your lodge dues please remember to pay your Chapter dues as well.) That additional $15 goes a long way in helping those in need. Did you know $10 of that $15 is applied to supporting Mooseheart School Girls & Boys Athletics, the Music Department and many more Mooseheart activities? At Moosehaven we help with the Pharmacy, Dental, Hearing and Vision Exams, along with the Beauty and Barber Shop Services. So little does so much. If you’re not a Women of the Moose Member please consider in becoming a helping partner in our cause and join today. Just see me or any other member of the Women of the Moose and we will gladly explain in how you can become a member and make a difference.

Regards,

Sr. Regent LaWanna Sain

NOTICE

September 2nd Labor Day Picnic

Social Quarters will be closed on Monday September 2nd due to the Labor Day picnic. Remember to bring a covered dish to the picnic. The lodge supplies the meats and the roasted ears of corn. Picnic will happen come rain or shine. If it rains, we will have it in the lodge like we did for the 4th of July.

Indiana Day at Mooseheart

Weekend Bus Trip

Signup sheets for the Mooseheart trip are in the Lodge lobby. We plan to take a chartered bus up to Aurora, IL on Saturday September 21st and stay overnight at the Holiday Inn Express hotel just two blocks from the casino. Sunday morning, we get up and go to Mooseheart and visit the campus. You get a first-hand view of what we do for the kids at Mooseheart. After the kids put on a convocation for us, we return home arriving back at the lodge around 7:30 pm. Cost of the trip is $95 per person based on double occupancy of the hotel room. The money covers the cost of the motel room, snacks and drinks on the bus, and lunch at Joliet Moose Lodge 300 on Saturday. If you’re a member of our lodge and have never been to Mooseheart you will be re-imbursed your $95 when you board the bus. Those that do not wish to stop at the casino after lunch, we will be also going to the Chicago Outlet Mall. (We cannot get into our rooms until 4:30.) We have 20 rooms reserved and they go to those who supply their money to me first.

Social Quarters

Please bear with us as we train our new staff in the kitchen and waitresses. Our cook Andrea Jackson is off from a truck accident and broken femur. In addition to loosing Andrea we lost Tony Schrock one week later when he moved to Arkansas to live with his girlfriend. The cooks we were able to hire have never worked in this type of kitchen before but they are learning. In addition, we have two new weekend waitresses who are also coming along. One faster than the other, but please be patient. If you know of experienced cooks or waitresses willing to work, please let us know and have them come in a fill out an application.

I apologize for any inconvenience, and we will do our best to make it up to you.

The 10K Bingo is October 6th not September 8th.
